Yesterday I shooed the kids outside after hearing the click-click-click of plastic on plastic. A few minutes after going out, I heard my middle take a break from the duel to say good morning to the neighbors and let them know that I had said sword fights belong outside. We must have quite the reputation.
I’ve taken some time to sit down and sew these last two days and it has been wonderful. I’m making a new Renaissance dress for my middle. Her old one is ten inches too short in the skirt and two and a half inches to short in the sleeve. Some of that is probably shrinkage, but a lot is upward growth.
Lesson plans for the up coming year of home school are coming along nicely. I’ve spent a few days here and there working just on the plans, and it’s paid off. Adjustments will need to be made through the year, but those will be minor.
I love seeing my grapevines thrive and hope that next year they’ll produce fruit. My strawberries are doing well also and I know they’ll have fruit. My one little apple is starting to turn red and I hope there will be a larger crop next year. It’s just about time to plant salad things for the fall. My garden looks and feels pathetic over-all, but I’ll reap some black beans, and each year seems to bring progress. We’ll get there.
