My container gardening has begun with peas and lettuce and awaits warmer weather for other outdoor plantings. My struggling indoor lemon tree has a flower bud (to go with it’s two leaves), and the kids and husband are off launching rockets. The house is blissfully quiet. Some days I miss that, now that I’m homeschooling. Most days I insist on an outdoor or in room recess to ensure a small amount of quiet.
Our wonderful rabbit has already been wrecking my garden. I have small irises in bloom and went out to see which might be close to opening only to see the stems snipped off. I quickly got the “Deer Off” out and sprayed around. We’ve had a rabbit under our deck since we bought the house 10 years ago. The kids love it and get worried when we adults crab about its destructiveness. For now I’ll continue to spray. I’ll just have to remember to get out earlier next spring.
I think I’ll log out and go listen to the birds.
